I always loved Salt n Pepa

Thursday, August 27, 2009

People say I'm a bad driver, but today I watched a woman who looked both ways turn onto a one way street. A car honked at her and then she proceeded to park, if you will, long enough for me to:
  1. pull my iPhone out of my purse
  2. go to the camera application
  3. click "don't allow" current location to be known
  4. and then take a picture of her finally reversing from her present spot.
Then I crossed the street and giggled as I thought about how the majority of the population in my new home are of a certain ethnicity that tends to be stereotyped as being bad drivers (case in point), and how I no longer can be called the worse driver!
It's really hard when the one person you want to talk to doesn't want to talk to you, yet they'll talk to everyone else. Not very conducive to making someone feel wanted.
Feeling and longing are the motive forces behind all human endeavor and human creations.
~ Einstein
I hope everyone is enjoying themselves. Truly.

I hate being not trusted. I hate being not heard. I hate being treated poorly. And especially I hate feeling empty.

I think most people are in search of something very similar. Fulfillment. Completion.

The sun is out. Let's enjoy it shall we?
People like me focus way too much on other people...nada mass. We live in a selfish world. From now on I say if you aren't happy, figure out what makes you happy. If someone, something, somewhere isn't making you feel full and alive find someone, find something, and find somewhere that will. No more catering to others. It's time I live for me.

Liquid Gold

Homer called olive oil "liquid gold" and rightly so. Olive oil serves many purposes.  We use it frequently in consumption, but there are many uses for this viscous substance that we may not think of.  For one, I swear that every time I eat bread, in moderation, with balsamic and oil, I get regular.  But according to this website it may aid with snoring!  Where has this substance been all my life? I know lots of people who I want to give a shot of this to before night time.
This is a glimpse into my personality via my own birth chart. What's unique to me, will be different to another, based on when and where I was born. I love this shiitake!

Ascendant in Virgo and Sun in Virgo

Your excellent discrimination and analytical ability should help you to be successful. Your tendency to criticize rather than empathize, however, often makes others feel that you do not appreciate or respect them.

Sun in Virgo

At heart you are modest and humble, and you rarely strive to be in the limelight or in a position of power. You have a sharp analytical mind, a keen eye for detail, and you prefer to observe, dissect and study life from a distance. Conscientious and conservative, you can be relied upon to be careful, efficient and thorough in your work and you take pride in doing a job well. What you may lack in self-confidence you often make up for in skill -- developing expertise, technical knowledge, and competency in some specialized area. You are adept at using your hands to create or fix things, and meticulous attention to detail and careful craftsmanship are your forte. Some would say you are a little TOO meticulous, for you can be extremely critical and petty if everything is not done exactly as you think it should be, and you worry about things that other people consider trivial and unimportant. You like to organize, categorize, and arrange everything into a logical system, and you are often distinctly uncomfortable when something does not fit into a neat category. Disorganization vexes you. You probably wish that you were not such a perfectionist, for besides being a stickler for details, you can be mercilessly self-critical as well. Whether in your environment or in yourself, you tend to focus on the flaws, with a desire to improve, refine and perfect. You are strictly factual, truthful, and scrupulously honest in your self-estimation, and you often do not give yourself enough praise or credit.

You are also highly discriminating and may be especially particular about your diet, hygiene and health habits. You have high aesthetic standards and refined sensitivities, and will be bothered by elements in your surroundings (such as disorder, cigarette smoke, etc.) that others overlook. Your tastes are simple, understated, but refined. Coarseness, bluntness and vulgarity really offend you. You can be difficult to live with sometimes because of your fastidiousness, your sensitivity and your idiosyncrasies about food and cleanliness.

Though you seem rather cool and self-contained, you have a very helpful nature and you enjoy serving others. You are content to be in a supportive, assisting role rather than in the lead. You are quietly devoted to the ones you care for.

You are careful and cautious in your approach to life, realistic, practical, and disinclined to gamble. You analyze before you act. You are too serious sometimes. Allowing yourself to play and to make mistakes would be HEALTHY for you!

Sun in the 12th House

You tend to get involved in the helping professions or in activities where your efforts are hidden, behind the scenes, unacknowledged, or unknown to the public. Asserting yourself or getting up in front of an audience may be exceedingly uncomfortable for you.

Sun Square Mars: You are direct, energetic, sometimes aggressive and combative. You often feel that you need to fight to get what you want and you tend to have a "me-first" attitude that angers or irritates others. You are hasty, restless, impatient and sometimes reckless.

And of course, the rest, I must pay for. Bullocks!

Sad

According to Kat Hertlein, Ph.D., professor of human development at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas "Approximately 40% of men seek sexual satisfaction outside their relationship...That number hasn't changed much since 1950, when the famous Kinsey sex study found that 50% of U.S. men cheat at some point in their marriages."

Terrible.

Words of wisdom

I'm glad you have chosen to live a life that matters....it doesn't happen by accident...it's not just circumstance but the choices we make to get there.....

Atonement

This is truly a love story. If you have not seen this movie, you must. I watched it on the airplane yesterday and tried to muffle my tears, but could not. It is a powerful film and a tragic love story.

SPOILER

Do not read the following unless you do not care about me spoiling much of the story line. I suggest you stop reading and watch the film!

SPOILER

A young girl has a very vivid imagination. She wants to be a writer when she grows older. She sees something that is complicated and thus she doesn't fully understand the scope of what is occurring before her eyes. She accuses an older man, whom she also has feelings for, of hurting her cousin. She does this because he is in a relationship with her older sister. This false accusation separates him from the one he loves. For the rest of his life he cannot be with his love and the young girl punishes herself as well. She creates a story to be able to cope with her life and loosing everything, because in the end she has nothing but her tales. And the lovers are never reunited.

I'm way too sensitive for a lot of things in life, but when I get in a disagreement with someone, and we reach no resolution, boy does that eat away at me.  Worse yet when the other party just walks away and doesn't want to reach resolution, especially when I am still feeling ill about the ordeal, I feel a host of emotions from abandoned to unloved to unappreciated.  This is too much for me.

If in the morning of your soul, a brush of tenderly imagined lips: It's only love and gone in the way of everything.

If in the midnight dregs of a cocktail glass a teardrop falls: It's only love and gone in the way of everything.

If in the singing twilight of the dawn you give your heart unwanted: It's only love and gone in the way of everything.

Then what in the hours of your life is love? It's here, then gone. But gives it's name to everything.

Two people, just meeting
Barely touching each other
Two spirits greeting
Trying to carry it further
You are one and I am another
We should be one inside each other

You can see inside me
Will you come inside me?
Do you wanna ride inside my love?
You can see inside me
Will you come inside me?
Do you wanna ride inside my love?

Two strangers, not strangers
only lacking the knowing
So willing, feeling, infinite growing

While we're here the whole world is turning
We should be one
Fulfilling our yearning

You can see inside me
Will you come inside me?
Do you wanna ride inside my love?
You can see inside me
Will you come inside me?
Do you wanna ride inside my love?

Murder suspect's case ends in mistrial

Murder suspect's case ends in mistrial | San Francisco Examiner

Shared via AddThis

Do I even want to address this? There was so much evidence supporting the guilt of Rich and Michelle it amazes me. Physical evidence. There was an eye witness who didn't even want to testify and he did.  Why?  Because ultimately there are people who still do the right thing.  Apparently, it doesn't matter.  There will always be someone (aka a defense attorney) who believes in supporting the fucking devil.  Beautiful.  No one is going to hold your hand and lift the veil for you folks.

SF cops are ridiculous. Everything they did was wrong. They let two murders get away despite the evidence.  Search warrants?  Nah, who needs them?  How many San Franciscans who didn't even know this man were outraged at the maltreatment? MANY. People all the way down to Southern California were so upset with the story and the performance, or I should say lack of, of SF cops that a man took matters into his own hands.  A single individual played detective and caught these two criminals in Mexico, who might I add, abducted their own daughter! Doesn't that speak magnitudes on their character?

No one is perfect, but Milo was neither a criminal or a murder. I'm shocked that this trial would end the way it did.  In his grave he was demoralized. Milo was a brilliant man. Well read, multi-lingual, a great mechanic, philosopher of sorts, traveler, computer geek. He was a good friend, father, partner. Now I have to re-mourn this again. Justice was not served.  Let the man rest in peace.

I don't find comfort knowing this is the world we live in.  Amazing.
For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity.

Excited!

I've wanted to go to the Grand Canyon ever since I saw the movie ever so appropriately titled Grand Canyon.  On my road trip I will get to stop in the desert and hike the South Kaibab Trail. This trail is described to be a very arduous day hike with no shade, but with exquisite views.  I'm excited, and how could I not be?
Fucking beautiful!
